Beaton Hall CCA – Doors Open Event Invitation

Beaton Hall Community Climate Action Doors Open Event on Saturday 19th January from 11am-3pm. 

Beaton Hall has undergone an extensive upgrade to create a fuel-efficient comfortable community hub including the installation of LED lighting, external wall insulation and new double glazing throughout with funding through the Climate Challenge Fund. 

Please come along and enjoy complimentary refreshments and the opportunity to tour the facility, meet the Team and partners, test drive an electric car or bike and learn more about how to reduce home energy costs and save money from impartial specialists from Home Energy Scotland.

All Welcome

(Must be 14 to test bike and bring along driving licence to test drive an Ecar). To test drive the electric car individuals need to provide both their driving licence and national insurance number for insurance purposes.

The event is organised by the Beaton Hall Community Climate Action Project  – an initiative supported by a grant of £124,612 from the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund (CCF), which includes maximum funding of £41,325 from the European Regional Development Fund.

Rural Parliament Outcomes

It has been a month since we convened in Stranraer for the 2018 Scottish Rural Parliament. Thank you to everyone who attended, your contributions were invaluable and we will soon be publishing a report summarising key findings and asks from delegates. During the event we finalised our Post-Brexit Policy Statement and presented it to Michael Russell. While the outcome of Brexit remains uncertain, we are pleased that rural Scotland’s voice has been heard.

Your Invitation to Holyrood

We are bringing the voice of rural Scotland to the heart of the Scottish Parliament with a reception sponsored by Finlay Carson, constituency MSP for Stranraer. We will present our report from the Rural Parliament to those attending to ensure rural concerns and opportunities are heard. It takes place on Thursday 10th January from 5.30-7.30pm at the Scottish Parliament.  If you would like to attend please register an interest by emailing emma@sra.scot. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and registration is essential.
