Methlick Fund Run

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came along to Methlick on Saturday for our 7th Fund Run.

It was by far our biggest turn out to date. We had 76 runners on the 10k run and another 27 on the 5km route with a further 5 young children running laps on the cricket pitch. As ever we were blessed with sunshine, it was almost too warm, and I think a great time was had by all.

With regards to times and places I have attached the top 10 finishers for both distances. As you can imagine given the numbers it simply isnt feasible to get a time for every finisher, but as the saying goes you are all winners and the biggest winner of all is New Life Homes.

In total, with some money still to be collected, we have raised in the region of 1,600.

This is truly fantastic and will go a long way towards the care and support of the babies the Trust cares for each year. Thank you so very much.

As well as thanking all our runners/walkers and those who made donations, can I also publicly thank those who helped on the day to make things run so smoothly, even though we had almost double our usual numbers.

Thanks to Joanna and Sheila for taking down all the participant details, collecting the monies and preparing the certificates. To the water station and route marshals who helped to make sure all runners and cattle were kept apart and that the cattle didnt get to roam. To Judith and Katherine for serving the teas, cakes and juice. To the ladies of the church for preparing the fabulous cakes and bakes. To Michelle for doing everything else that needed to be done and the things I didnt know needed doing and for everyone and anyone else who simply mucked in and offered their assistance on the day.

if you still have money to collect or didn’t make it to Methlick on Saturday but would like to make a donation please visit our virgin moneygiving web page….

When the route arrows were collected a head-band was found on the 10km route, which was no doubt discarded in the heat. If this is yours please let me know and we will do what we can to help reunite head and band.

We plan to do it all again next year and I look forward to seeing many of you back in Methlick for our 8th event.

Warmest Regards,
