For the Community of Methlick in Aberdeenshire

The sun shone for the Methlick gala… only it was raining at the same time for part of as well. The result was a spectacular rainbow right in front of the crown at Lairds watching the cricket sevens below on the pitch.

The morning started dry with some sun, but the rain started drizzling at 1:30pm and while there were some interludes it made for a wet afternoon.  Finally finishing damp with a touch of sun. The results will be posted on the Methlick Cricket Club page:

The DUCK RACE was well subscribed with hundreds of entries and the ducks being greeted home at the Methlick Bridge with the Guarana street drummers.

One part of the event was given over to the COMMUNITY CONSULTATION of the King George IV Park, project Phase-III, being led by the Community Council’s Park Committee. The display boards done by Jame Hall, presented the progress of park and open space development over the years at Methlick and asks people to comment on the ambition for an all weather artificial grass games area. The space, will be for football. basketball, and also to develop tennis in the community. The consultation will continue at other community events.
