Methlick Garden Club March Meeting

METHLICK GARDEN CLUB WOULD LIKE TO WELCOME MEMBERS AND VISITORS TO OUR NEXT MEETING

TUESDAY 25TH MARCH 7.30PM

AT THE SCOUT HUT METHLICK

TIM KEYWORTH HEAD GARDENER

@ LEITH HALL GARDENS

The talk will be on the gardens at Leith Hall. It’s History, Projects and features. He has been at Leith Hall now for six years. And well in to his fourth year as Head Gardener there. He was 22 when He took over the gardens there which made Him the youngest Head Gardener the NTS has had.

It is a challenging but wonderful garden. At 186 metres above sea level it is one of the coldest in Scotland with the lowest recorded temperature of -28oc. The last few months He has been recreating/restoring the rock garden for which this garden was once renowned for. Features of the garden include a herbaceous border that spans 100m along with 100m of catmint running alongside it. The garden is also well known for its rare moongate.
